On April 27-28, 2015, USAID AgroInvest Project jointly with Regional Economic Growth Project and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands through CBI conducted a 2-day training on EU Market Developments, Export Opportunities, Product Quality, Food Safety and Certifications in Fresh and Processed Fruits & Vegetables.
The training was attended by producers, manufacturers, exporters of fresh and/or processed fruits and vegetables in Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. During the first day, the training covered market trends and developments in the fresh and processed fruit & vegetables sector, focusing on high end markets and export. Product quality, food safety and certifications ware the key topics.
The second day focused on all issues related to Global GAP: its benefits and its practicalities. Also, the second included a visit to the Stolychny wholesale market and Metro Cash & Carry and Auchan supermarkets.
