REG supported 15 Balkan leading Agribusiness companies (6 from MK, 4 from Serbia, 3 from BiH, 1 from AL and 1 from KS), as well as 13 companies from Azerbaijan, to participate in GulFood trade fair in Dubai as the most prospective alternative market.
On the first day our senior consultant introduced the opportunities and challenges for doing business in UAE and presented strategic models for entering UAE market through direct trading, trading agent and joint venture. The Project organized guided visits to supermarket chains in the region Carrefour (3 of the top 10 highest sales stores are in Dubai), Union and Spinneys as well as Dubai Whole sale market where companies explored categories product positioning and competitive products.
At the fair, companies have B2B meetings with relevant importers and distributors from Dubai, but also others - Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, etc. Some of these meetings already resulted with interest for samples, offers and should lead to new export deals in the near future.
