On April 25, REG and the World Bank organized, in cooperation with CEFTA, a workshop on the Joint Action Plan on Trade Facilitation for Western Balkans (JAP).
The workshop took place in Belgrade with participation of representatives of Ministries of Economy/Trade and Customs Administrations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro and Serbia.
The general objective of the workshop was to contribute to trade facilitation reforms leading to greater integration of the region by enabling participating countries to:
- Update the progress of their commitments included in the JAP in preparation of the next EU - Western Balkans Summit scheduled to take place in Trieste in July 2017
- Discuss the national and regional actions for implementation of the CEFTA Additional Protocol 5 on Trade Facilitation and
- Learn more about the modalities to seek support for implementation of selected trade facilitation initiatives, including but not limited to single window systems and trade portals.
